Concept Products go green: our journey to carbon neutral
Thursday July 27, 2023

Over the last three years, Concept Products have taken huge strides to attain carbon neutral status.
Back in January 2022, we were delighted to announce that we had become a certified operationally carbon neutral business. It’s been an epic journey spanning three years, the result of lots of work from our committed team and our friends at Positive Planet.
Setting out our carbon neutral plan
- Measure our carbon emissions
- Reduce our emissions
- Offset our emissions
- Certify our carbon neutral status
- Pass on our knowledge to our customers, suppliers, and others
This plan allowed us not only to achieve carbon neutral status ourselves, but pass the benefits onto our valued customers and suppliers. We are passionate about promoting the development of a circular economy in which every business is doing what they can to reduce their carbon footprint and protect our planet.
Anyone who purchases our products will not add to their own carbon footprint, as all our products and services are now carbon neutral. This is just one example of how businesses working together can transform the economy for the better.
Reducing landfill waste with recyclable packaging
We knew one of the best ways we could begin our transition towards carbon neutral was by changing our packaging. We sourced recyclable plastic bags, preventing 12,000 clear plastic bags from ending up in landfill every year.
Find out more in the video below, where Branding Manager, Jody Wood and Operations Manager, Nick Lovelace talk about the successful launch of our eco-friendly packaging solution.
From solar panels to electric vehicles
This was never just a tick box exercise – we are committed to continually improving our sustainability throughout all areas of our business.
We updated all the lighting on our premises to LED lights with motions detectors, so we never run lights unnecessarily. In November 2022 we had our solar panels fitted, meaning not only are we reducing our energy consumption – we are now producing all our own electricity to cover our operations.
We also upgraded our entire vehicle fleet to either hybrid or fully electric vehicles, further reducing our carbon emissions.
